DESCRIPTION: \nThe Bay of Islands (Elmastukwek) will be the site of a traditional Mi’kmaw gathering (Mawio’mi) on June 11-12\, 2016.  This event will be open to all people: native and non-native\, status and non status\, young and elderly.  The Mawio’mi will provide an opportunity for all people to share through stories\, songs\, crafts\, art and other ways.  With Elders and grassroots people there will also be sweat lodge ceremonies\, a water ceremony\, traditional teachings\, feasts\, drumming\, dance and much more. \nFull schedule of events to follow.  Connect with the Elmastukwek Planning Committee and follow updates by joining the Facebook Group “Elmastukwek Mawio’mi” \nQalipu First Nation is helping the Planning Committee to recruit volunteers and gather other information including potential vendors\, and donations.  Please click here to complete the questionnaire. \n
