New Funds Available through I’tesnen “We are Staying” Emergency Housing Support Fund

Qalipu First Nation is pleased to announce the availability of funds through the “I’tesnen (we are staying) Emergency Housing Support Fund.  This program provides funding for eligible projects that will help eliminate or reduce homelessness.

Eligible applications must fit into one of the following categories: Emergency Repairs, Housing Set-up or Short-Term Accommodations.  Specifically

  • Emergency Housing Repair provides financial assistance at a maximum of $5000 per household. The repair must be essential, that if not completed could cause the homeowner to have to leave their home.
  • Housing Set-Up provides financial assistance at a maximum of $2000 per application. This could include housing or rental start-up such as first and/or last month’s rent as required, damage deposit, and/or utility assistance.
  • Emergency Short-Term Accommodations can provide for hotel placement at a maximum of 10 nights.

 

If your application does not fall within the program’s scope of eliminating or reducing homelessness, it will not be approved for funding.
