Memorial University is hosting its inaugural Aboriginal Health Symposium on National Aboriginal Day, June 21, 2017.
This half day symposium will showcase Aboriginal education and research taking place at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
It will feature keynote speaker Dr. Michael Dan. Dr. Dan is a former neurosurgeon and one of Ontario’s most generous philanthropists, supporting hospitals, local charities, First Nations health, and human rights initiatives. Dr. Dan’s presentation is entitled The impact of colonization on the health of Indigenous people in Canada.
In addition, the symposium will feature oral and poster presentation of research related to Aboriginal health.
The symposium will take place from 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m. in the Dr. Richard Fagan Lecture Theatre, room 1M101, Faculty of Medicine, Memorial University of Newfoundland.
