Event Navigation
eople of the Dawn Indigenous Friendship Centre would like to invite you to our community vigil, “Lighting a Candle of Hope”. The purpose of this vigil is to come together, as a community, to offer comfort and hope to one another while recognizing and promoting awareness of the recent tragedies happening worldwide.
There are many people in our communities who have been impacted by recent international tragedies that include environmental and humanitarian crises, and we would love for everyone to be able to come together and show support for one another during this time – no one should ever feel they have to struggle alone.
“Lighting a Candle of Hope” will take place on Friday, January 24th, 2020 in the Lecture Theatre located in the Bay St. George College of The North Atlantic campus (432 Massachusetts Drive, Stephenville) from 6 PM to 8 PM. During the vigil, there will be an opportunity for community members to light a flameless candle in honor of loved ones lost or as a symbol of strength and unity. Members of our international community will also be invited to speak on their connections to these tragic events.
